Crunching Leaves
I’m sure we have all played this game in the Autumn when we were kids (and perhaps also as adults). Stamp on the leaves and the loudest crunch is the winner!
This illustration is a combination of pencil drawings and scans of ink prints for textures. The leaves are real, I scanned them after picking them up in my local park. Finished in Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Wow, this is a really nice piece – I love everything about it!
Wow–this is really lovely. The little sliver they’ve posted on the illustration Friday site doesn’t do justice to the whole thing. Such a wonderful contrast between the dark and moody background–which is so BIG–and the little girl with her bright yellow raincoat.
This is gorgeous! Congratulations on being selected as Pick of the Week – very well deserved.
Great Illustration. The textures/washes and the color contrast/composition are exceptional.
Wow… this looks great!
For me, the colors of the girl’s rain coat and boots add a sense of hope and warmth to the piece – she plays, seemingly unaware of the dark clouds that forebode a storm but yet someone took care to protect her. There’s alot to absorb in this piece. I think it’s fascinating.
Congrats on being pick of the week!
Beautiful illustration. Interesting to read how you created it. Congrats on being IF pick!
