2012 Art Trail Exhibition

I’m really excited to be part of the E17 Art Trail 2012, exploring the sites and sounds of musicians in the local area.

I’m an illustrator by trade but I am also mad about music so it wasn’t hard to find inspiration for this collection. It seemed pretty logical to have sound accompanying the exhibition so if you are planning on visiting, it’s well worth downloading the audio before you come.

About the Project

Musical Views will be my first solo collection of illustrations.

I live in Walthamstow, and I want to explore its rich cultural diversity by looking for music (traditional or contemporary) being played in this, the London borough of Waltham Forest. I’m looking at musicians from all walks of life, documenting them aurally & visually, and putting my findings together as an illustrated portrait exhibition.

Music has been a massive part of my life. At school I learnt to play my Grandad’s cornet, then the Trombone, guitar and taught myself enough to find my way around a keyboard. I’ve DJ’d for the best part of 20 years and also tried my hand at production.

I’m really excited about collaborating with the area’s musical talent (hidden or well known)  and look forward to seeing what imagery and soundscapes we produce along the way. The E17 Art Trail is an artist led project which provides a framework for E17’s and Waltham Forest’s artists and makers to exhibit and promote their work and art practice.

Overland Train

The Chingford train runs from Liverpool Street & stop at St. James Street. Turn right out of the station, turning right again onto the High st. Carisbroke Road is the second on the left. The Gospel Oak – Barking overland line also stops at Blackhorse Road.

By Tube

The Victoria line runs to Blackhorse Road. Turn right out of the station, walking down Blackhorse Road until you meet Northcote Road on your left.

By Car

Parking restrictions apply in the area so we reccomend that you don’t drive to the exhibition.
